Terms of Service

By creating an account, accessing a TrustProfile, or otherwise using HalalTrust, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

If you use HalalTrust on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

HalalTrust provides tools for organizations to collect, organize, maintain, selectively share, and selectively publish organization-provided halal-related evidence and disclosures, including organization details, documents, supplier or counterparty information, practices, public TrustProfiles, and QR codes in supported workflows.

HalalTrust is transparency and evidence infrastructure, not a halal certifier or document-authentication service. HalalTrust does not certify organizations, products, suppliers, materials, or facilities; authenticate uploaded documents; determine halal or haram status; inspect or endorse organizations; guarantee compliance or outcomes; or issue religious, legal, regulatory, dietary, health, or safety rulings.

Organization owners and workspace users must provide accurate account information, use the roles assigned to them, and maintain the confidentiality of their login credentials. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.

You must notify HalalTrust promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization. HalalTrust may use authentication, authorization, rate limiting, audit records, and other security controls to protect the service.

The organization is responsible for the accuracy, completeness, currency, legality, and presentation of information it submits or lists, including document details, issuing organizations, dates, external links, supplier or counterparty details, and organization-stated practices or disclosures.

You represent that you have the rights, permissions, and authority needed to submit the information and instruct HalalTrust to process it. You grant HalalTrust a limited license to store, process, format, review for publication safety, and display content as needed to provide the service and carry out your publication choices.

You must not submit misleading claims, impersonate a certifier or another organization, misrepresent a document, link to malicious or unlawful material, infringe another person's rights, or use HalalTrust to deceive customers or stakeholders. HalalTrust may remove or restrict content or accounts that violate these terms or create legal, security, or customer-harm risks.

Uploaded source evidence is private by default and does not become public merely because it was uploaded. Public sharing is a distinct reviewed action that creates a separate publication snapshot and explicit public artifacts. Private source URLs are not public publication URLs.

Publication review is a presentation and publication-safety boundary. It is not certification, document authentication, endorsement, inspection, or a ruling that an organization, product, supplier, material, facility, document, or practice satisfies any halal standard.

While publication access remains active, anyone with the public profile or artifact URL may view the information displayed there. Organizations should not place private, confidential, or unnecessary personal information in public-facing fields. Public artifacts can be revoked, subject to short cache propagation and provider lifecycle limits.

Documents, issuing organizations, suppliers, counterparties, websites, and other third-party information are provided or selected by the organization. HalalTrust does not control third-party websites and is not responsible for their content, availability, or privacy practices.

Customers and third parties may report a concern or correction through a public TrustProfile or by contacting support. HalalTrust may review, correct, restrict, revoke, or unpublish content while a report is evaluated.

The first month of the Self-Service plan is free. No payment card is required when the owner account is created.

An owner may separately activate the Self-Service plan from the protected dashboard at $39 per month or $390 per year. Stripe processes checkout and recurring payments. The price, first-month-free timing, billing date, and other details shown during Stripe checkout form part of the billing terms.

Owners with an active Stripe customer account may use the billing portal to manage or cancel the subscription. Cancellation ordinarily stops future renewals according to the billing settings shown by Stripe. HalalTrust may limit paid features or public-profile availability when the first free month or a subscription is no longer active, subject to applicable law and any notice provided in the service.

Guided Implementation requires a separate agreement and order form. Submitting a qualification application does not create an account, process payment, execute an agreement, reserve capacity, or enroll the organization.

An organization owner may use the available export to receive a TAR archive containing a manifest, structured workspace records, eligible managed source files, and a SHA-256 checksum for each exported source. The current product limit is 100 source files and 100 MiB of source bytes.

The export does not include passwords or password-reset material, sessions, provider credentials or tokens, internal security controls, other organizations, provider-managed backups, provider-managed billing records, or every record held by every provider.

You may not interfere with the service, attempt unauthorized access, probe or bypass security controls, introduce malicious code, scrape the service at a harmful rate, use the service unlawfully, or infringe the rights of another person or organization.

You may not use HalalTrust branding, profile design, publication artifacts, or QR codes to imply HalalTrust certification, authentication, endorsement, partnership, or religious approval.

HalalTrust is an early-stage service and may change, suspend, or discontinue features. The service may experience outages, errors, cache delays, or data-display delays. HalalTrust does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

We may update these terms as the product, law, or business changes. The updated date will appear on this page. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the maximum extent permitted by law. HalalTrust disclaims warranties that are not expressly stated in these terms.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HalalTrust is not liable for organization-provided claims, customer or stakeholder decisions, third-party documents or websites, religious or dietary determinations, lost profits, lost data, reputational harm, or indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

HalalTrust may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address nonpayment, security threats, unlawful activity, misleading content, material violations of these terms, or risk to customers, organizations, HalalTrust, or third parties.

You may stop using the service at any time. Subscription cancellation and account or data deletion are separate actions. Cancellation is handled through the billing flow; permanent deletion uses the guarded account-deletion process and requires the request to become eligible and be separately operationally authorized.

Eligible application deletion removes the documented live organization data and managed workspace files, but it does not mutate Stripe, delete customer-supplied external URLs, or guarantee immediate removal from provider backups, caches, logs, deployments, email, billing, fraud, tax, legal, accounting, or recovery systems. Provider or legally required remnants may remain under the applicable provider lifecycle or obligation.

HalalTrust retains minimal pseudonymous deletion-completion and durable recovery evidence designed to prevent a deleted account from being silently resurrected after a database restore. No fixed retention duration for that evidence is promised in these terms.
